73rd Republic Day of India in Ho Chi Minh City

On the evening of 26 January 2022, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep, Director of Can Tho Department of External Relations attended the reception on the occasion of the 73rd Republic Day of India, held in Ho Chi Minh City.

2022 marks the 50^th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Vietnam and India, and just 3 weeks ago, the Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City had collaborated with Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to organize a ceremony to celebrate this significant milestone. The Consul General of India in Ho Chi Minh City, Dr. Madan Mohan Sethi stated that true friendship between Vietnam and India came to the fore during the COVID crisis, when both countries extended immense support to each other in 2020 and 2021. Vietnam is a key pillar of India's Act East Policy and also an important partner in India's Indo-Pacific Vision. The two countries share similar views on common international issues, and Dr. Sethi affirmed that the Consulate General of India would closely cooperate with the Vietnamese partners to promote further people-to-people exchange, education, trade and investment activities.

It is planned that in 2022 Can Tho City will also work closely with the Indian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City to organize events celebrating the 50^th anniversary of the two countries' diplomatic relations.
