Russia, Australia back VN’s stance on East Sea

During their meeting, PM Dung and his Russian counterpart expressed their pleasure at the strong development of the traditional friendship and cooperation between Viet Nam and the Russian Federation.

They discussed on a wide ranges of measures to further strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries in such fields like politics, economy, security-national defense, education and training, energy, science and technology.

PM Dung suggested that both sides should quickly finalize major agreements and speed up negotiations on the free trade agreement between Viet Nam and the Custom Union of Russia, Belarus- Kazakhstan.

Meanwhile, PM Medvedev affirmed that Viet Nam is an important partner of Russia in the region.

He expressed his pleasure that Viet Nam will be the first partner to sign a free trade agreement with the Customs Union.

The two PMs agreed to lift up the two-way trade value to US$ 10 billion in the time to come; direct inferior levels to actively finalize agreements which are expected to be signed during the upcoming official visit of Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to Russia.

For the East Sea issue, PM Medvedev shared the position of Viet Nam and ASEAN to settle disputes through peaceful measures on the basis of international law.

PM Dung invited PM Medvedev to visit Viet Nam soon and the Russian counterpart accepted the invitation with pleasure.

 
 
 

Australia backs VN's stance on East Sea

PM Dung and PM Tony Abbott noted with pleasure at the fine development of the relations in various fields between Viet Nam and Australia.

PM Dung asked Australia to create favorable conditions for Vietnamese exports and increase scholars for Vietnamese students.

He also hoped that Australia would continue its assistance for Viet Nam to achieve sustainable socio-economic development and cope with climate change.

For the East Sea issue, PM Tony Abbott affirmed his country's strong support for the stance of ASEAN and Viet Nam on peaceful settlement of disputes on the basis of international law to maintain peace, stability, security, safety and freedom of navigation and aviation in the East Sea./.
