PM Nguyen Tan Dung Welcomes Former British Counterpart
PM Dung highly valued the practical contributions of Mr. Tony Blair to the bilateral ties, saying that the strategic partnership between Viet Nam and the UK have brought back mutual benefits for both sides.
He also suggested the two countries effectively put the signed agreements into reality and discuss new cooperation programs especially in economics, trade and investment.
The Government chief expressed his hope that the UK would continue ODA provision for Viet Nam's efforts in poverty reduction and fulfillment of the UN Millennium Development Goals.
He also praised the close and fruitful coordination between the Office of Tony Blair and the Vietnamese Ministry of Planning and Investment (MoPI) in facilitating FDI inflows via the model of PPP and strengthening the presence of foreign strategic investors in the Southeast Asian nation.
PM Dung also called for Mr. Tony Blair's contributions to the Viet Nam-EU relations, particularly the early signing of the Viet Nam-EU Free Trade Agreement and EU's ratification of the EU-Viet Nam Partnership and Cooperation Agreement.
For his part, Mr. Blair affirmed that he is ready to share experience of FDI attraction, trade exchanges, PPP model, and education development with Viet Nam.
He committed to closely working with the MoPI and other related agencies to select Vietnamese business partners and prioritized infrastructure projects for foreign investment and making every effort to nurture the cooperation between Viet Nam and the EU./.
