State President leaves for 22nd APEC Summit in China
The tour is made at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
The State President was accompanied by Deputy PM, FM Pham Binh Minh, Chairman of the Presidential Office Dao Viet Trung, Minister of Industry and Trade Vu Huy Hoang among others.
The idea of APEC was firstly introduced by former Australian PM Bob Hawke and was realized on November 6, 1989. APEC now represents 40% of the world's population, 55% of global economic output and 44% of total trade.
APEC aims to boost sustainable economic growth built on the three pillars of trade and investment liberalisation, business facilitation, and economic-technological cooperation.
APEC groups Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, Chile, China, Hong Kong (China), Indonesia, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Peru, the Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Taiwan (China), Thailand, the United States, and Viet Nam./.
