During his reception on Thursday 06/12/2018 for the Argentine Ambassador to Vietnam, H.E. Mr. Juan Carlos Valle Raleigh, Chairman of Can Tho Municipal People's Committee Vo Thanh Thong emphasized the roles and position of Can Tho City in the country as well as the Mekong Delta Region.

Mr. Thong, therefore, highlighted Can Tho's needs to expand and boost its cooperative ties with various countries in various fields. With Argentina, he asked for assistance from H.E. Ambassador to appeal more Argentinean investors and enterprises to visit Can Tho City for investment opportunities and bilateral trade cooperation focusing on agriculture, fishery and education. In addition, Mr. Thong expressed his commitment to connect Argentinean stakeholders with Can Tho line agencies, of which Can Tho University was a focus to serve for diverse educational needs of students in Can Tho City and the Mekong Delta as a whole.

In reply, the Argentinean diplomat showed his strong agreement with the Chairman's remarks in that both Argentina and Can Tho City should promote their cooperation in bio-technology application in agriculture and education. Especially, he briefed the Chairman his meeting with Can Tho University to discuss collaboration possibilities between Buenos Aires University with Can Tho counterpart. Moreover, cooperation in technology and politics need to be facilitated, which was more important in 2018 when both countries celebrated the 45^th anniversary of diplomatic relations.
