Speaking at the meeting, H.E. Ambassador shared that the today's meeting was to follow up his first one to Can Tho City in June 2018 with Nordic Ambassadors of Norway, Sweden and Demark. He hoped that this visit could build up contacts and explore new ways to cooperate with Can Tho City in various fields especially in environment and climate change sectors.

The diplomat emphasized the current issues of the Mekong Delta in general and Can Tho City in particular on plastic waste management and climatic change conditions. Therefore, he brought along Finnish leading companies in waste management solutions and technologies to this trip to seek for cooperation opportunities with the city.

For his part, Permanent Vice Chairman Anh Dung thanked the delegation for paying the courtesy call to the city leaders. The Vice Chairman then briefed the diplomat challenges of the city in terms of waste, waste management and climate change.

The Vice Chairman acknowledged that addressing challenges especially those related to climate change issues is a complicated task in that a city, government or country cannot act on its own, but needs to join hands with other countries for a more thorough solution. In this regards, he was confident that Finland, with its experience, advanced technologies and equipment can assist and cooperate with the city and its relevant stakeholders to tackle the challenges.
