Meeting with SK (Republic of Korea).

On the afternoon of January 18, 2024, Secretary of Can Tho City Party Committee Nguyen Van Hieu and leaders of relevant departments and agencies had a meeting with Mr. Lee Dong Uk, Technical Leader of SK and his team members.

Mr. Lee briefed the city leader with information on hydrogen technology and suggested pilot projects in Can Tho using hydrogen such as hydrogen bus, wholesale market, and environmentally-friendly agro-business hub, among others. The SK representative said that he believed through such green projects in Can Tho, the city would soon achieve the carbon-neutral target and this would open more opportunities in high technology for Can Tho to attract not only SK Group investors but also ones from other countries.

In response to the above information, City Party Secretary Nguyen Van Hieu emphasized that SK Group's implementation of activities to form and develop a green hydrogen ecosystem in Can Tho city was very suitable because Can Tho is located in the center of the Mekong Delta. SK's installation of green hydrogen production infrastructure in Can Tho would generate a spillover effect, creating a premise to attract investment to the city and the entire Mekong Delta region. Can Tho City would strongly support SK Group's investment ideas and create all conditions for SK to implement projects in the city.

Secretary Hieu assigned Department of Planning and Investment and Department of Industry and Trade to collaborate with SK in the process of the latter's investment inn Can Tho.
