Indian Consulate General in HCM City enhancing collaboration with Can Tho
Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Thuc Hien has just hosted a meeting with the Consul General of India in Ho Chi Minh City Dr. Madan Mohan Sethi. The two sides discussed the preparation of a business trip to India for Can Tho delegation. The main purpose of the trip is to network with Indian businesses in import-export agricultural products, healthcare, education, tourism, and I.T. sectors.
In addition, the Vice Chairman requested the collaboration of the Consulate General of India to organize seminars for Indian businesses and partners to invest in Can Tho City and the Mekong Delta area. In March this year, the Consulate General of India had a similar event in Khanh Hoa Province, with the participation of 70 Indian businesses. The Consul General shared that after the successful seminar, some Indian businesses have expressed their intentions to invest in Khanh Hoa, Phu Yen, and some other provinces in the area.
The City People's Committee leader has assigned the Department of External Relations as the focal point for working with the Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City in arranging the details of the trip.
On the same day, Dr. Madan Mohan Sethi and Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep signed the Memorandum of Understanding on collaboration between the Indian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City and the Department of External Relations. Vice Chairman Nguyen Thuc Hien said this signing would play a crucial part in enhancing the relations between Indian partners and Can Tho City, as well as implementing specific cooperation activities between the two sides in the upcoming time.
