Finnish company explores investment opportunities in Can Tho

On 17 April 2022, Mr. Tran Viet Truong, Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee had a meeting with Mr. Tero Blomqvist, CEO & Founder of Kaira Clan, a Finnish compnay for digital transformation and innovation development.

Representative of the company briefed the city leader and related departments and agencies on different projects related to smart city development. In addition, the company has had connections with Tampere region in Finland, and suggested to introduce Can Tho City to Tampere for the two sides' collaboration.

Mentioning the demands of the city, representative of the Department Information and Communications said that there are three pillars in the city's five-year planning for smart city development and digital transformation, namely digital government, digital society, and digital economy. Prioritized areas for such development include urban planning, IT infrastructure, smart transportation, smart agriculture, tourism, healthcare, and education.

Other representatives from the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Department of Health, and Department of Planning and Investment also shared the needs to collaborate with international partners for digital transformation and development in each field.

In conculsion, Chairman Tran highly appreciated the visit of Kaira Clan to the city to learn more about its investment opportunities. The city leader also mentioned the potential for signing sister city relationship between Can Tho and Tampere for further collaboration between the two sides. The Chairman assigned related departments to work with Kaira Clan in providing further information so that the company could advise the most suitable investment oppotunities for Can Tho.
