Scholarships for Can Tho students to study at the American University in Vietnam (AUV)

On the afternoon of January 05, 2022, Mr. Duong Tan Hien, Permanent Deputy Chairman of the City People's Committee, together with representatives of relevant departments and agencies, had a meeting with representatives of the American University in Vietnam (AUV).

According to Dr. Duong Manh Cuong, Head of AUV Representative Office, AUV is the first American university in Vietnam and a member of the APU Educational Development Group, which has more than 30 years of experience in connecting with major American education, with continuous educational system from kindergarten to university. The first premise of the Group is APU International School launched in Ho Chi Minh City in 2004, and APU American International School launched in Da Nang in 2015.

AUV has been training its students with the American standardized syllabi with major study areas including business administration, global business administration, multimedia communications, information technology, tourism and hospitality management, health science, pharmacy, nursing, technology, aviation technology, etc. AUV brings about diverse programs and study plans to meet the demands and orientation of students, creating a pathway to American universities without any further testing or certificates.

On the occasion of visiting the city, AUV is offering several scholarships to Can Tho students for their study at AUV, in specific, there are: 01 scholarship covering 100% fees (value 60,000 USD), 10 scholarships covering 50% fees (value 30,000 USD), and 30 scholarships covering 30% fees. These scholarships are for students in marketing, multimedia communications, and information technology. Students will study two years at AUV in Da Nang, and another two years at one university in the States.

Permanent Deputy Chairman Duong Tan Hien expressed his gratitude towards the interest of AUV to Can Tho students as well as the education and training of the city. Mr. Duong Tan Hien said that Can Tho is not only the economic and political center of the Mekong Delta, but it is also the educational hub for training human resources for Can Tho and neighboring provinces. Therefore, the city is keen on cooperating with AUV to boost the cooperation in education with American partners.
