Meeting to prepare for the Seminar named “Meet Japan – Mekong Delta region”

In order to prepare for the upcoming event entitled "Meet Japan – Mekong Delta region", Mr. Nguyen Hoang Long, Chief of Department of Foreign Affairs Provincial, Ministry of Foreign Affairs chaired a meeting with representatives of relevant agencies of Mekong Delta provinces on 29th January 2018 at the building of Can Tho city People's Committee.

At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Long gave brief information on the importance of the event which brings great benefit not only for Can Tho city but also for all provinces in Mekong Delta region in forming relationship, investment promotion and business connection. Especially, representative of Ministry of Foreign Affairs also shared some useful information on the habits, investment interest and significant attention when working with Japanese counterparts so that provinces of Mekong Delta can take advantage to call for cooperation and foreign investment as well as sister cities establishment. This event would be a very good opportunity for two sides of Vietnam and Japan to understand each other clearly in different aspects to serve for the coming fruitful cooperation.

Thanks to the varieties of suggestion and shared viewpoints of participants at the meeting, Mr. Long concluded that the event "Meet Japan – Mekong Delta region" will be proposed to be co-organized by Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Can Tho city in April of 2018 which includes 3 sessions of (1) cooperation and development, (2) localities cooperation, (3) economic cooperation. The scope of this Seminar is estimated to welcome around 350 delegates from Japan and provinces of Mekong Delta region of Vietnam. It is expected to be a very useful event to build solid background for the future cooperation between Mekong Delta and Japanese counterparts./.
