Enhancing the role of Vietnamese representative agencies in supporting small and medium enterprises to integrate into the international economy
A series of three seminars will be held in Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, and Hanoi on December 26, 28, and 30. The focus of these seminars is to enhance the role of Vietnamese representative agencies abroad in supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to effectively participate in the international market.
Within the framework of the Ayeyawady - Chao Phraya - Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy (ACMECS), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Department of Multilateral Economic Cooperation) and the "Promoting the role of Vietnamese representative agencies abroad in supporting SMEs to recover and integrate into the international economy" Project Management Board plan to organize three seminars on enhancing the role of Vietnamese representative agencies abroad in supporting SMEs to effectively participate in the international market.
These seminars are organized to enhance the role, initiative and connection of Vietnamese representative agencies abroad in providing information support for SMEs to effectively participate in the international market, contributing to economic recovery and connecting the post-Covid-19 supply chain; creating a basis for building a unified and stable support channel for SMEs; and improving the capacity for proposals among Vietnamese representative agencies abroad and the capacity for developing relevant policies at the local level.
About 100 delegates representing associations, Vietnamese SMEs, Vietnamese representative agencies abroad, and relevant ministries, departments, agencies, experts and researchers will attend the seminar.
With the above goals and meanings, the discussion series will be a valuable opportunity for Vietnamese SMEs to directly discuss their challenges and express their needs for support in entering the international market with Vietnamese representative agencies abroad, as well as representatives of central and local agencies.
The surveys at the seminars aim to provide updated, multi-dimensional information on: (i) the integration and participation in international markets of SMEs; (ii) information on international markets and support capabilities of Vietnamese representative agencies abroad.
Based on the survey results, in-depth discussions will be held among policy-making agencies, leaders of SMEs in various regions of the country, and Vietnamese representative agencies abroad, to propose initiatives and policy recommendations to enhance the role of Vietnamese representative agencies abroad in supporting SMEs.
The project will address three challenges in enhancing the role of Vietnamese representative agencies abroad in supporting SMEs, including: (i) the approach to supporting SMEs of representative agencies needs to be comprehensive, cohesive and proactive; (ii) meeting the requirement for connection between central and local policy-making agencies, representative agencies and SMEs; (iii) meeting the need for timely and effective information retrieval and updating of information by SMEs about international markets, partners and potential projects.
The project is the first initiative in the ACMECS cooperation mechanism, bringing together high-level and local policy-making agencies, business leaders across the country and Vietnamese representative agencies abroad to support the process of planning, analyzing and implementing policies to promote the role of Vietnamese representative agencies abroad in supporting SMEs to comprehensively integrate into the international economy.
