Irish Government Scholarship for the academic year 2022-2023.

The Irish Embassy in Vietnam has announced that the Irish Government Scholarship Programme under the Ireland Fellows Programme (IFP) opened applications for the 2022-2023 academic year. This is a programme for Vietnamese candidates pursuing a Master's degree at Irish universities and institutes of technology.

 

The IFP Scholarship aims to train candidates who have the potential to become future leaders through courses on leadership and development, thereby helping to develop their potential in areas such as food science, sustainable development in agriculture and rural areas, climate change and environment. Hence, this programme contributes to establish positive relationships between individuals, organizations and Irish partners. Moreover, it also promotes cooperative relations between the two countries.

 

Eligible candidates are Vietnamese citizens who are living in Vietnam and working at partner agencies of the Irish Embassy in Vietnam. Applicants should have a minimum of two years' substantial work experience that is directly relevant to their chosen programme of study. In addition, applicants need to ensure a fluent understanding of the academic English language required for their programme of study, demonstrate leadership abilities and aspirations as well as a commitment to contribute to building positive relationships with Ireland.

The scholarship covers tuition fees, two-way airfare, visa fees, health insurance, accommodation costs, settlement allowance, book costs. The application process consists of 3 rounds (preliminary application, detailed application, English test and interviews) lasting from July 5 to December 2021. Successful candidates will be issued a scholarship letter in July 2022.

 

The Irish Embassy in Vietnam will organize an informational webinar on the scholarship programme, and it is scheduled at 2pm on July 20, 2021. If being interested in the webinar, candidates can confirm their participation by sending email to vietnamscholarship@dfanet.ie before July 16, 2021.
