Vietnam, Indonesia Agree To Lift Up Trade Value To US $10 Billion
Deputy PM, FM Pham Binh Minh affirmed that Viet Nam always attaches importance to enhancing the traditional friendship and strategic partnership with Indonesia during his talks with visiting FM Retno Marsudi in Ha Noi on Friday.
FM Retno Marsudi spoke highly of Viet Nam's achievements of socio-economic development and international integration, reiterating her Government's desire to treasure the strategic partnership with Viet Nam.
Both sides expressed their pleasures at the positive developments in the bilateral ties in general and cooperation between the two foreign ministries in particular, over the past time.
The two sides pledged to coordinate closely in organizing various activities to mark the 60th annuniversary of diplomatic ties, foster the exchange of delegations at all levels, and promote the role of the bilateral cooperation mechanisms, including the joint committee for economic, scientific, technological cooperation
Viet Nam and Indonesia will strive to lift up the two-way trade value to US$10 billion by 2018 as committed earlier by leaders of the two countries, the two diplomat agreed.
FM Retno Marsudi affirmed that her country will actively support Viet Nam to host APEC Summit in 2017.
Regarding the East Sea issue, both Viet Nam and Indonesia emphasized the importance of ensuring peace, stability, security, safety and freedom of navigation and aviation in the East Sea, of settling disputes peacefully on the basis of international law, including the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).
The two countries also called on all parties to strictly and fully implement the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea, exercise self-restraint and take no actions that may complicate the situation, and quickly formulate a Code of Conduct of parties in the East Sea./.
