Party chief starts tour to US

VGP – General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong led a Vietnamese high-ranking delegation to pay an official visit to the US at the invitation of the US administration.

He was accompanied by Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Tong Thi Phong, Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Le Thanh Hai, Deputy PM, FM Pham Binh Minh, and head of the Party Central Committee's Commission for External Relations Hoang Binh Quan, Deputy Minister of National Defense To Lam and Deputy Minister of Public Security To Lam and Vietnamese Ambassador to the US Pham Quang Vinh, among others.

There are also representatives of war veterans, religious dignitaries, intellectuals and entrepreneurs.
