On April 15, Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai hosted a reception for French Minister of State for Foreign Trade, the Promotion of Tourism and French Nationals Abroad Matthias Fekl currently on a working visit to Vietnam.

At the meeting, Deputy PM Hai appreciated the results of the third high-level annual Vietnam-France economic dialogue under the chairmanship of Matthias Fekl and the Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment.

Hai described the dialogue as an opportune occasion for both sides to review and examine ways to promote stronger future cooperation.

The Deputy PM suggested the two sides should accelerate the implementation of joint projects such as  a project on small satellites observing natural resources, the environment and natural disasters, a Nhon - Hanoi railway station urban railway project and a cooperation project between France's GDF Suez group and the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PVN).

Matthias Fekl in turn briefed his host on the working results with the Vietnam Ministry of Planning and Investment, noting that the two countries need to step up broader cooperation in aviation, satellite supply, energy, equipment and infrastructure in the future.
