Courtesy Call between Deputy Minister Ho Thi Kim Thoa and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Hungary in Viet Nam

In February 09th 2015, the Deputy Minister of Viet Nam Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT), Ms. Ho Thi Kim Thoa had a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Hungary in Viet Nam, Ms. Torda Eszter, before ending ambassadorial term office in Viet Nam.

The traditional friendly relations between Viet Nam and Hungary which was established in February 3rd 1950 was incessantly developed in many sectors, especially political relations. Recently, the Hungarian President, Mr. Áder János, officially visited to Viet Nam from 24th to 25th November 2014, right after President Truong Tan Sang's visit to Hungary in September 2013.

After the 5th Session of Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation between Viet Nam and Hungary, the two Parties noted several positive activities, particularly projects implemented within Framework Agreement worth of EUR 35 million. Besides, according to the Exchanging Program during period from 2013 to 2015 signed in July 29th 2013, the Hungarian government provided Vietnamese students, masters, and doctors with 50 full scholarships yearly.

Ms. Torda Eszter informed that from July 2014, the Hungarian government has been opening and reopening some Diplomatic Representative Offices abroad, in which the Consulate General of Hungary would be opened in Ho Chi Minh city. Ms. Torda Eszter stressed that that is the first Diplomatic Representative Office of Hungary in Asia after Hungarian new government's establishment.

Ms. Torda Eszter confirmed that Hungarian Leaders have paid much attention to Viet Nam's potential and role in Southeast Asia area, and expressed desire to foster cooperation with Viet Nam becoming more effective.
