Vietnam - Japan Cultural and Trade Exchange Program in 2023

On June 17-18, 2023, at Luu Huu Phuoc Park, Can Tho City People's Committee, in collaboration with the Consulate General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City and a number of Japanese organizations, and local universities, is organizing the Vietnam - Japan Cultural and Trade Exchange Program in 2023.

The Vietnam - Japan Cultural and Trade Exchange Program in 2023 includes activities to introduce and perform Vietnamese and Japanese culture and arts, e.g. exhibitions of paintings and ao dai, typical cultural products of Vietnam and Japan; performing modern and traditional music of Vietnam and Japan; Vietnam - Japan culinary exchange; Vietnam - Japan Cosplay Cup Contest, etc.

Besides, there is also an Investment and Trade Promotion Seminar for Japanese partners, and the seminar of "Strengthening friendship and promoting the effectiveness of cooperation with Japanese partners". In particular, within the framework of the Program, there are approximately 70 trade booths of businesses from Vietnam and Japan presenting to visitors unique products and services.

The Program is expected to be attended by representatives of leaders of central foreign affairs agencies, Japanese diplomatic missions in Vietnam, the Mayor and business delegations of Nasushiobara city (Japan), and JICA, JETRO, JCCH organizations, as well as representatives of the Vietnamese - Japanese communities and businesses.

Can Tho City People's Committee and the Japanese Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City hope that through this event, the friendly cooperation relationship between Vietnam and Japan will be increasingly consolidated and developed, thereby helping the two sides to understand more about each other's culture, potential and investment environment. It is also a premise to promote economic cooperation between Can Tho City and Japanese partners, which is a practical activity to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan (1973-2023).

The Vietnam - Japan Cultural and Trade Exchange Program in Can Tho is an annual activity, but it has been interrupted in recent years due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
