KinderWorld (Singapore) to expand investment in Can Tho

On 17 May 2022, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc He, Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee, hosted a meeting with Mr. Ricky Tan, Chairman and CEO of KinderWorld Education Group (Singapore) on the progress of investment projects in the city.

KinderWorld Education Group is an international education group that was started in 1986 in Singapore. The Group has invested in the Singapore International School (SIS) project in An Binh ward, Ninh Kieu district, Can Tho city. SIS has been operating in Can Tho from the 2018-2019 academic year with a bilingual program at all levels from preschool to junior high school.

In addition to the above project, since 2015, KinderWorld Education Group and Can Tho City People's Committee have had working sessions on a number of projects related to education and training invested in Can Tho, including the expansion the quality of the high-quality educational program (taught entirely in English) at SIS Can Tho; new construction of Pegasus International University, and build an eco-tourism complex and a school to teach students outdoors skills. However, due to the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic and some other objective factors, the projects have not been implemented. The Group's desire is to promote the implementation of projects in the city, in order to create opportunities for students in Can Tho City in particular and the Mekong Delta in general to access the international educational environment.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc He thanked KinderWorld Education Group for its interest in investing and creating a high-quality educational environment, contributing to the city's effective implementation of Resolution 59 of the Politburo. Agreeing and reviewing the work that Can Tho City and the Group have cooperated to implement in the past time, the Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee suggested that the Group have a new document to propose to the City People's Committee for the city to direct relevant departments and agencies to speed up the progress of projects. The focal units are assigned to Department of Education and Training, Department of Planning and Investment to guide the order of procedures for the Group to expedite procedures according to regulations.
