High-ranking delegation of Cuba visit Can Tho

On the afternoon of November 11, 2022, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Viet Truong had a meeting with Mr. Homero Acosta Álvarez, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary General of the National Assembly and the State Council of Cuba during his the working visit to Vietnam from November 7 to 13, 2022.

Besides expressing his appreciation for the warm and respectful welcome of the leaders of the Party, State and localities of Vietnam to the delegation in the past few days, the Secretary General of the Cuban National Assembly expressed his delight to visit Can Tho city. He affirmed that there is no relationship as exemplary as the relationship between Cuba and Vietnam and expressed his admiration for the development of the latter. He hoped that with the special and deep relationship between the two countries, in the coming time, Vietnam and Cuba, as well as between localities of the two countries, will have deeper and stronger cooperation activities. .

Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Viet Truong introduced to the Delegation the situation and policies of socio-economic development as well as solutions for the development of Can Tho city. He shared his sympathy to the current difficulties of Cuba and committed to coordinate with the brother country, which has a close and traditional relationship, to build economic cooperation programs to contribute to socio-economic development for both sides.

Immediately after the meeting with city leaders, the delegation visited the Temple of the Hung Kings in Can Tho City and followed by a visit to the seafood processing and production facility at Southern Seafood Co., Ltd. Tra Noc 2 Industrial Park.

The delegation left Can Tho for Ho Chi Minh City on the morning of November 12, 2022.
