Concluding the 2021 translation and interpretation skills training course organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

After a month of study, on the morning of December 8, 2021, the training course on translation and interpretation skills, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for 36 diplomatic officials and employees of provinces and centrally-run cities across the country in 2021, was held a closing ceremony.

The training course aimed to implement the Project of fostering foreign affairs and languages, translation and interpretation skills for local officials during 2021-2025 approved by the Prime Minister at Decision No. 1275/QD-TTg dated August 19, 2020. This is the first training course held online with 36 participants from foreign affairs agencies, departments and branches of localities across the country. Participants are tested for entry level as well as taking a final exam to assess the quality of their studies.

During the training course, participants have access to knowledge of experienced lecturers from the National Center for Translation and Interpretation, central ministries and branches. The learning content includes the general theories on translation and interpretation, international press conference skills, diplomatic protocol, and preparing talking points for leaders, etc. Participants also have the opportunity to practice translating and interpreting work through mock bilateral meetings, translating for leaders, etc.

Participants who complete the training course will receive a certificate, along with a copy of the student's comments and evaluation from the National Center for Translation and Interpretation.
