Can Tho City signs LOI with European companies

During the official visit by H.E. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to Belgium to attend the ASEAN –EU commemorative summit, the leader oversaw the signing of the Letter of Intent between Can Tho City People's Committee and IPEI Belgium – BESIX – Ice Loft Consortium.

The signing ceremony was carried out at the headquarters of the Federation of Enterprises in Belgium, with the witness of Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Deputy Prime Minister of Belgium David Clarinval, and related ministries and enterprises of both countries.

The Letter of Intent is signed by Mr. Tran Viet Truong, Chairman of the City People's Committee and leaders of the Consortium based on the strengths and needs of Both Parties. In particular, IPEI Belgium – BESIX – Ice Loft Consortium is well-known in the field of concession and exporting to Europe, the Middle East and the United States the tropical fruits of Vietnam and other agricultural products. On the other hand, Can Tho City has a strong orientation to develop international trade, service and international technology transfer activities, including cross-border e-commerce, aviation logistics, airport urban areas, technology for the circular economy, etc. to become the logistics center of the Mekong Delta, the export center of Vietnam's diversified products from the Mekong River Region.

The City has drawn attraction from the Consortium in its two major projects of Agro-business hub for the Mekong Delta in Can Tho, and the Grade II Logistics Center. The People's Committee of Can Tho City will direct related departments and agencies to collaborate with IPEI Belgium – BESIX – Ice Loft Consortium in providing related information and guiding investment procedures for the above-mentioned projects in accordance with current legal regulations, procedures and processes of Viet Nam.
